I’ll admit talking about recovery isn’t very sexy. It is important though if we want to continue to make progress in our training. You’ve likely heard the term over-training at some point and a perspective I read a while ago (I can’t remember from who or I’d totally give them credit here) said it’s not so much over-training as it is under-recovery.
I feel this thought process is pretty spot on. The human body is an amazing thing and can adapt and recover from a lot of things even conditions are less than optimal. Yet if you consistently get poor quality sleep and fail to do a few basic things then your results will be lackluster.
